Extens, a growth investor in digital health and first French fund exclusively dedicated to healthcare software publishers, experienced a record year in 2020.

The full deployment of its second fund has confirmed the relevance of Extens' sector strategy. The fundraising of its third vehicle, targeting €100M, has been launched.

"In 2020, we have structured our sourcing process to better identify software publishers with the highest potential to become the leaders of tomorrow's digital health industry. We have expanded our ability to support our portfolio companies, leveraging our footprint in the e-health ecosystem, one of Extens' unique strength." Cédric Berger

Extens has invested in 15 healthcare software publishers with tickets between €2M and €12M since its creation in 2014. Including co-investors, more than €100M have been injected into the French healthcare software industry.

"All e-health market players are meant to collaborate and develop an integrated ecosystem. There has been a consistent and justified increase in valuations for the past four years. Major players in the e-health market pursue a consolidation strategy aimed at creating a continuum of digital solutions to complement their offer and expand their client base. One of the conclusions that can be drawn from the current health crisis is that digital innovation holds great potential for improving the performance of the health system." Arnaud Houette
